Update terbaru Aplikasi Mi Remote tidak bisa digunakan untuk Remote TV. Padahal banyak pengguna ponsel Xiaomi dengan infrared yang memanfaatkan fitur remote tv. Penghilangan fitur remote tv infrared ini sempat membuat beberapa pemegang seri yang mendukung inframerah seperti Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3 dan beberapa seri lain heboh, entah apa sebabnya. Dugaan saya, adalah karena ada komplain geng emak-emak yang komplain kepada developer Xiaomi tentang acara tv yang tiba-tiba berubah sendiri saat sedang menonton sinetron (--abaikan).


Bagi anda yang kangen dengan Mi Remote yang mendukung Remote TV inframerah (bukan Smart TV) berikut ini saya masih ada cadangan aplikasi lama Mi Remote yang bisa dipasang di Android Kitkat. Yarp, silahkan install apk Mi Remote yang sudah diunduh seperti biasa. Meskipun aplikasi ini dari ROM marshmallow, saat saya buka manifest apk, di situ tertulis `targetSdkVersion=19` dan `minSdkVersion=15` yang artinya (seharusnya sih) bisa dipasang di Android mulai versi 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich/ICS). Apakah bisa dipasang di Android Nougat? Bisa. Saat ini saya menggunakannya di ROM LineageOS 14.1 Nightly.
